City of David

The City of David sits just outside the Old City.
the valley where King Solomon kept his 1000 wives. He also allowed them to bring there prophets (false) to the City and a small hill sat next to this valley where the prophets lived. This mount is called the Counsel of Evil. Today the UN sits on it. :)

This is where Jesus walked! It is the lowest point in the City of David, so actual road Jesus walked!
Me walking in Hezekiah's tunnel. II Kings 20:20 and II Chronicles 32:30
It was pitch black, you only see light because the photographer used a flash. It was about a 45min walk. Barely 3ft. wide and sometimes as low as 5ft. high. My friend had a flashlight, so I could see a bit. The tunnel's entrance is the Gihon Springs (in Kidron Valley) where King Solomon was baptized, the exit is the Pool of Siloam. This tunnel is under the City of David. *for a little education: King David crowned his son Solomon King of Israel (I Kings 1:33) and Solomon was probably the wisest man in the Bible. He wrote Song of Solomon, Proverbs and Ecclesiastes and thousands of proverbs and songs. He had Joab carry water from this spring up to the City.
I see the light at the end of the tunnel! You see lots o light, cuz of camera flash again.
This is an underground jail where Jesus was scourged by Pilate and left in this pit! The pedestal here holds Psalms 88 in many languages. Also at this location of the underground jail, is where Peter denied Jesus and the rooster crowed three times. So there are rooster signs everywhere!
This is sitting down, looking up view. Imagining what Jesus saw. No way out and only a hole in the ceiling and a very high window (not sure if that was there in His time).
beautiful view through an abandoned home in the City. mmmm... and the excursion ended with a nice hot cup o shocolatte, along with my 4 new german friends. *notice this milk is thicker than the one in my video! i love it when the chips stay on top and melt to the bottom! :)
